Dr Adi Kale is a clinical research fellow at the University of Birmingham with an intercalated degree in Healthcare Management and Leadership. His research has involved a range of fields including Ophthalmic imaging, patient safety, and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Adi is currently conducting doctoral research focused on the monitoring of AI health technologies in the post-market phase. He is working with Dr Xiao Liu and Prof Alastair Denniston, in conjunction with MHRA colleagues to understand how AI health technology safety monitoring should be undertaken once deployed in clinical settings. Previous work has also included supporting an innovation accelerator (University of Birmingham DEMAND-Hub), where Dr Kale led several projects to support small and medium-sized enterprises develop a range of medical technologies.

Adi also has advisory roles relating to AI evaluation and regulation, and is part of INSIGHT, the HDR UK data hub for eye health.
